The service provides 33 units of supported accommodation, staffed 24 hours for homeless people aged over 18. The purpose of this service is to support service users to develop independent living skills in the management of a household, their own finances and working towards establishing themselves in community services, whilst being supported with staff on site. This will be seen as a step up approach to more independent living in their own accommodation, limiting the need for further support and preventing any escalation of needs. Your day as a Scheme Support Officer will consist of:
* Engaging and interacting with the people we support to help them connect with other support services
* Supporting Project Workers in delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
* Carrying out health and safety checks within the scheme
* Addressing any additional needs, the people we support might have
* Building community links and establishing partnerships that benefit our customers
Our motivation is to ensure we equip our service users with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role, and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse, and offending behaviour. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental and manage disputes or conflicts appropriately.
