Communications & PR Manager

Role Summary
Working closely with key stakeholders across the business and reporting directly to the Head of Marketing, FINBOURNE's Communications & PR Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the firm's strategic communications plan to enhance FINBOURNE's brand, market positioning and revenue growth.
This role is hands-on, shaping internal and external messaging, managing PR and content, and driving engagement with key stakeholders, including clients, media, and employees.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and creative communicator with strong writing skills, media relations expertise, and a deep understanding of content marketing. They will lead the end-to-end execution of PR and content initiatives, working closely with internal teams and SMEs to ensure FINBOURNE's voice is consistently represented across all channels.
Key Responsibilities
include where required, but not limited to:
* Media Relations & Press Engagement
o Develop and maintain relationships with journalists and editors in FINBOURNE target media list.
o Proactively pitch news stories, company updates, and thought leadership to media outlets.
o Draft and distribute press releases, media alerts, and OpEds.
o Monitor media inquiries, coordinate interviews, and provide media training for company spokespeople.
o Manage crisis communications, responding swiftly to mitigate reputational risks.
o Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, product, sales) to align PR with business goals.
* Content Development & Thought Leadership
o Write op-eds, articles, blog posts, and whitepapers for company executives and subject matter experts.
o Develop key messaging and talking points for media appearances and public speaking engagements.
o Leverage data and insights to create compelling PR campaigns and thought leadership pieces.
o Repurpose PR content for social media, website updates, and internal communications.
o Ensure corporate messaging consistency across all channels.
* Event & Speaking Engagements
o Prepare executives with speechwriting, presentation decks, and briefing documents.
o Secure media coverage and interviews around key company events and launches.
o Capture event content (videos, insights, quotes) to fuel PR and content strategies.
* Monitoring, Reporting & Performance Analysis
o Track media coverage and brand mentions, providing regular reports to stakeholders.
o Maintain a media coverage database and analyze competitor PR activity.
o Provide insights and recommendations to refine PR strategies for better impact.
* Crisis & Reputation Management
o Advise leadership on proactive and reactive communications in response to reputational threats.
Skills and Experience
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.
* Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with media contacts, stakeholders, and internal teams.
* Strategic thinking to develop effective communication plans aligned with business objectives.
* Creative and innovative mindset to develop unique communication strategies.
* Experience in public relations and/or corporate communications, with a track record of developing and executing successful PR strategies.
* Prior experience in the financial services, capital markets, or related industries is highly preferred, with an understanding of industry-specific regulations, trends, and key stakeholders.
* Hands-on, proactive, and execution-focused; a "doer" who takes initiative and drives projects to completion.
