Job title: Senior Waste Consultant

Salary: Negotiable (DOE)
Location: West Cumbria
Hours of work: Full-time 37 hour week (Hybrid - 2 days onsite)
Applicants must have experience of the following:
* Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
* 5 years' minimum relevant experience.
* Experience of the full radioactive waste lifecycle.
* Experience of developing radioactive waste management strategies for waste processing, characterisation, treatment, packaging and disposal.
* Experience in producing waste management plans.
* Relevant knowledge of waste and environmental assessments, producing and submitting letters of compliance, environmental impact assessments and environmental permit application.
* Understand the analytical tools and techniques/waste characterisation techniques for developing chemical, physical and radiological inventories of radioactive waste.
* Have SC clearance or the ability to obtain.
Ideally applicants should also:
* Be working towards, or have already achieved, chartership with a relevant professional body.
Role information:
* Delivering tasks in waste management, and in other areas as required, according to the contract specification to clients as per business priority.
* Working with project managers to build waste management plans.
* Contributing to business development by supporting proposals/bids, delivering internal activities and seeking and implementing improvement initiatives.
* Developing and implement characterisation strategies and produce sampling and analysis plans.
* Undertaking activities in support of continuous professional development.
* Delivering high quality waste consultancy, train junior, and develop the team.
