Prospero Teaching are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Learning Support Assistants to inspire and support pupils in one of our excellent Primary Schools in Newcastle. The role is to start in ASAP and will involve working across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 classes.
The role will involve working with pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour, so the successful candidate will need to be a resilient practitioner and have excellent relationship-building skills.
The school have both full-time and part-time roles available. For the right candidate, there is the strong possibility of the role becoming permanent. The hours of work for the role will be 08.30-16.00.
The role will involve supporting the pupils with their learning and communicating effectively with Class Teachers to ensure appropriate strategies are used that are suited to the individual needs and learning styles of the pupils to allow them to engage with their learning and make excellent progress.

This role will involve:
· Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and SEND on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
· Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.
· Building positive relationships with Class Teachers to support pupils and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities.
· Preparing resources for lessons.
· Supervising pupils at break times and lunch times as required.
· Having a "hands on" approach to supporting the pupils in their learning, with a willingness to interact, engage and form a positive rapport with pupils.
This role requires:
· An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
· Ideally a recognised Childcare-based qualification, although again, this is not essential.
· An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
· A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
· Experience in classrooms supporting students. Again, this is not essential.
· High levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with pupils.
· A genuine passion for helping young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in education.
· An enthusiastic approach and a willingness to engage with and form positive relationships with pupils.
