We are partnered with an NHS body that provides healthcare services across Hampshire. They are currently undergoing large-scale transformation, and as part of that are looking to expand their Estates and Maintenance team.
Your new role
As an Electrical multi-trades operative, you will be carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance of plant and equipment in support of Maintenance and Capital Projects.
1. You will ensure that planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and associated work is implemented efficiently to specified requirements and aid with improving these requirements on a continuous basis.
2. Ensure safe methods of working within the Estates Maintenance operations andpliance with statutory regulations and Trust policies and procedures.
3. Use developed skills on low voltage switchgear and distribution, basic electronics, building management controls (automation and motor) in order to recognise workspliant or otherwise to latest BS7671 standards.
4. Bepetent to undertake Electrical Inspection & Testing procedures, all with the intention of achieving optimum performance, safe operation, and energy saving of Trust’s assets.
5. Prioritise and work under own initiative with minimal supervision as requested on all building services contained within the Trust Estate portfolio. Co-ordinate the receipt of maintenance requests, input of information into theputer system, production of procedures and feedback into theputer system of work progress, including labour and materials used.
6. Interpret layouts and drawings and utilise this information to perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM), rectification of faults and installation of new equipment.
7. Identify and record concise details of test results, action taken when rectifying breakdowns and further action required to eliminate or minimise future problems.
8. To prepare and maintain adequate records as required/necessary for the effective monitoring of maintenance, safety, efficiency, value for money and effectiveness of operational procedures.
You will also have the opportunity to bepetent/undergo formal training to work within the following fields if required:
9. LV Sub-station Distribution and Stand-by Generators
10. Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Building Management Systems (BMS)
11. Pressure systems
12. Lifts
13. Boiler Controls and associated equipment/services
14. Fire Alarms
15. Control systems of varying types throughout the sites Catering, Laundry, Water Treatment etc.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need an electrical background with an NVQ or equivalent with an electrical bias, to be able to diagnose and rectify electrical faults, and a full driving licence.
You will ideally have some of these but they will train you if you don't
16. A sound knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanical systems obtained ideally in a hospital/medical environment.
