Role Overview
You will be responsible for delivering products on time, to specification, and within budget, in alignment with the production plan. You will collaborate with the senior leadership team to define the manufacturing strategy and ensure its successful execution, driving performance through key performance indicators (KPIs).
Your role will involve ensuring that your team completes production efficiently to meet customer demand. You will lead and coach your team to achieve existing KPIs and introduce new ones through strategic thinking to maximise productivity.
Additionally, you will be responsible for coaching and developing your team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement to enhance performance and reduce costs.
This is an onsite role based at our Botley site.
Primary responsibilities for this role include:
* Deliver production targets in:
o Output levels (efficiency & utilisation)
o Quality control
o Health & Safety compliance (including employee welfare)
o Customer satisfaction
o Budget control
o On Time in Full (OTIF) delivery
* Identify and mitigate risks, reporting proactively to Consumables Director
* Foster a safety-focused culture, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001
* Develop and implement induction and training programs for all new employees.
* Plan and monitor team performance, optimising production efficiency, resource utilisation, and waste management.
* Continuously seek improvements in factory efficiency and processes.
* Build effective working relationships across departments to maximise productivity.
* Managing Labour and Production Plans across the site, with a pro-active strategical thinking on resources planning for a quarterly and yearly basis.
* Stock management - ensuring correct stock levels for both day and night shifts is business critical.
* Providing management information on a weekly and monthly basis.
* Implementing processes and procedures, then making sure staff are adhering to them.
We are ideally looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
* Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
* Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
* Understanding and experience of Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S and Continuous Improvement.
* Knowledge of Quality Management Systems in manufacturing.
* Previous experience running a production operation of a similar scale.
* The ability to demonstrate your operational strategy and capabilities.
* To be highly organised.
* To be a pro-active person who identifies issues before they arise.
* Passionate about training and mentoring staff. We like to promote internally where possible.

* We anticipate a salary between £33,000 and £43,000 for this role, depending on the candidate's experience.
