ABOUT US:
Legacy Youth Care is not your typical children's residential setting. We are a brand-new company brimming with drive, experience in children's social care, and a passion for making a transformative difference. We are committed to creating a home that places empowerment, growth, and joy at its heart.
Our care home is not yet operational and you will be instrumental is its' launch. Together with RI, you will prepare and submit SC1 and SC2 applications to Ofsted (around February 2025).
Our 5-bedded property will provide a nurturing environment for up to three young people (of all sexes) aged 7 to 18, who may present with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and associated needs.

- Lead and oversee the daily operations of our children’s home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment.
- Prepare, submit, and secure Ofsted registration for the home.
- Develop and implement care plans that are tailored to individual children's needs.
- Coach, mentor, and develop a passionate team of care professionals, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Supervise and guide staff to ensure high-quality care is delivered.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and standards.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with children, families, and multi-agency partners.
- Handle administrative tasks, including documentation, reporting, and staffing requirements.
- Support children’s outings and appointments, ensuring safe and enjoyable experiences.
REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification (equivalent, or working towards).
- A minimum of 3 years of management experience in residential childcare services (including Deputy Manager roles).
- Visionary leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
- A positive, solutions-focused mindset with a proactive, can-do attitude.
- A trauma-informed therapeutic approach to supporting children with EBD, SEMH, Autism, neurodiversity, and MH challenges.
- Full UK clean driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK and be aged 23 or over.
- Have a great command of English (written and spoken).
- Flexibility to ensure staffing needs are met, including being available to step in when required.
- Comfort managing behaviours that challenge, with a commitment to positive, restorative approaches.
- Exemplary leadership and mentorship qualities, capable of selecting and galvanising a passionate team with your charisma and vision.
