Job overview
SLT Team Lead for Preschool Early Interaction Team
Band 7 – 30 hours
* To provide an effective and efficient speech and language therapy service to young people within the Preschool Service.
* To lead and provide clinical expertise within the Early Interaction Team (EIT) as a job share, taking responsibility for coordinating the service, and for staff personal development and line management.
* To have an overview of the service delivered by the team, providing data as required.
* To take a lead role in service development for the EIT, leading in the use of audit and outcomes to measure and improve the quality of care.
* To work as part of the multidisciplinary team, including other health professionals and education staff.
* To provide support for other members of the Speech and Language Therapy team.
Main duties of the job
1. To lead the Preschool Early Interaction Team (EIT), monitoring waiting lists, overseeing training and development, providing line management and liaising with the wider workforce.
2. To provide supervision and support for staff within the Speech and Language Therapy Service.
3. To conduct annual personal development conversations, line management responsibilities and support personal development.
4. To monitor service delivery and outcomes for the team.
5. Responsibility for developing and implementing specific team objectives or projects. Reports back to whole team.
6. To provide highly specialist assessment, advice and therapy (both group and/or individual, as appropriate), and ongoing assessment and review.
Working for our organisation
We are a welcoming and supportive team of around 40 members of staff, consisting of Speech and Language Therapists, Assistants and Admin staff ranging from bands 2 to 8.
We provide a robust line management and clinical supervision structure to ensure members of staff feel confident to provide a constantly improving service to our children, young people and their families.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Degree in SLT
* Relevant experience working with Preschool Children with additional needs
* Previous experience of leadership
* Appropriate spelling, punctuation and grammar
* Previous experience of service development
* Masters level qualification or equivalent
* Relevant up-to-date training
