Responsibilities:
* Provide capability reviews for any new/future work and complete independent design reviews ensuring compliance to requirements and identifying all gaps prior to commencing any new work.
* Provide technical support and engineering knowledge during the implementation of any new processes; specifying tools, equipment and chemicals etc required.
* Establish any First article inspection requirements for any new work packages as required, working with all interested parties to ensure compliance and completion.
* Prepare detailed work instructions for repair and overhaul of components and component parts to ensure compliance with approved maintenance data and customer requirements;
* Create work packages within the organisation’s MRO ERP system;
* Effectively resolve technical problems beyond the scope of the maintenance manuals and liaise with manufacturers/OEM’s/customers where appropriate;
* Provide operational and technical analysis and troubleshooting for all processes and procedures as required;
* Provide interpretation and clarification of overhaul requirements; unit build standards, and engineering bill of materials documentation to support operational repair and overhaul processes;
* Participate in material review board (MRB) providing technical expertise as required whilst ensuring continued compliance to maintenance manuals.
* Review airworthiness directives, service bulletins and manual changes to incorporate amendments into production ensuring necessary gap analysis has identified all requirements.
* Liaise with customers providing written and verbal technical advice as required; produce reports relating to product serviceability, repair summaries, warranty, and failure analysis or product configuration;
* Carry out feasibility studies for any new potential processes or procedures identified by the business.
* Project manage new processes and procedures into the business ensuring successful hand-over to Operations.
* Create new business procedures as required and maintain existing procedures ensuring continued compliance to customer and regulatory standards.
* Provide engineering support for investigations, continuous improvement projects and other projects as identified.
* Provide support to Operations on creation of technique sheets for processes.
* Maintain technical concurrence of maintenance documentation and records;
* Provide technical expertise for all NADCAP audits and technical support for other audits as required.
* Adhere to our Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety Management Systems (SMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and all associated Business Manuals.
Organisational Relationships:
* Functionally responsible to the Engineering Manager, whilst delivering a high level of engineering support to all areas of the business as required.
* Technical liaison for program managers and customers, interacting with customer engineering departments as required;
Job Requirements (e = essential / d = desirable)
Education and Training:
* HNC/HND or similar level of education in an aerospace or mechanical engineering discipline; (e).
* Engineering Apprenticeship: (e).
* Experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment; (e)
* Awareness and knowledge of the regulations and regulatory requirements of the aerospace industry; (d)
* Strong planning, organizational, analytical, decision making, oral and written communication skills; (d)
* Ability to provide advice as a subject matter expert and provide technical report writing. (d)
* Project Management (Prince 2) (d)
Technical Requirements:
* Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings, manuals and technical instructions; (e)
* Working knowledge and understanding of precision measuring instruments; (e)
* Working knowledge of Helicopter rotary components, hydraulic components, aircraft propellers and engine fuel components (d)
* Knowledge of component build standards and original equipment manufacturing manuals; (d)
* Working knowledge of NAVIXA, Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel. (d)
