Technical Surveyor
Are you an experienced Technical Surveyor looking for an exciting new opportunity? We are currently recruiting for a skilled professional to join a reputable organisation, providing expert surveying services in property repairs, maintenance, and improvement projects.
Role Overview: As a Technical Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting property condition surveys, asbestos assessments, and health & safety inspections. You will ensure compliance with legislative standards, prepare project specifications and tender documentation, and oversee contract works related to maintenance and improvements. Additionally, you will play a key role in customer consultation and delivering appropriate disabled adaptations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct property condition, asbestos, and health & safety surveys.
* Maintain accurate property service databases.
* Prepare schedules of work, tender documents, and project specifications.
* Oversee contract works and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Administer disabled adaptations in line with regulatory requirements.
* Provide excellent customer service and maintain external partnerships.
* Manage budgets and ensure value for money across projects.
Candidate Requirements:
* Qualification in Building Technology (HNC Level or equivalent industry qualification).
* Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Experience in housing maintenance, construction, or a related field.
* Knowledge of building maintenance, stock condition surveys, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance (CDM, Asbestos Regulations, DDA, Building Regulations).
* Experience in contract administration, project management, and budget control.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Desirable Skills:
* Chartered status (RICS or equivalent professional body registration).
* CAD proficiency.
* Experience within housing associations or the public sector.
* Additional qualifications in asbestos surveying (P402/P405), SAP ratings, fire safety, or first aid.
* Access to a vehicle for site visits across the organisation’s operational area.
Location & Working Arrangements:
This role offers agile working, with a designated office base in either Newton Abbot or Bideford. Flexibility, including occasional work outside standard hours, may be required.
