Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven regional transport partnerships. As well as running the iconic Glasgow Subway, SPT delivers an extensive range of public transport services including bus stations and subsidised bus services, manages large transport infrastructure projects and is responsible for delivery of a long-term multi-modal transport strategy for the West of Scotland.
About the Role
As a Facilities Technician, you will provide facilities support services to the Customer Services department. You will assist in the programme of preventative maintenance, reactive calls, and inspections at all of SPT locations as required. The role requires you to carry out basic elements of joinery, plumbing and painting.
The nature of this role may require you to work outwith normal office hours on occasion to support the operational requirements.
You will be based at Buchanan Bus Station, Killermont Street, Glasgow.
Please note, this position falls into the high-risk category under the Alcohol and Drugs policy and therefore is subject to random and for-cause testing procedures.
About You
It is essential that the successful candidate has first-hand experience in a maintenance environment and experience of working in a safety critical environment. The successful candidate must also be computer literate. You will have good communication skills both verbal and written and be able to communicate at all levels. You will be a self-motivated individual who is able to work without immediate supervision and have the ability to deliver excellent standard of customer care.
The successful candidate will have relevant qualifications including National 5 Level A-C equivalent in English and Math/Arithmetic.
