The role
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Azets Quality and Technical Team as a Quality & Technical Manager to provide support to our client-facing audit teams as part of our business’ exciting growth journey.
This is primarily a home working role; however, travel to offices will be required to fully embrace this role.
Key accountabilities
You will be responsible for providing support to our audit teams as they undertake high quality, risk focussed engagements by providing knowledge, consultation and resources across a number of areas, including:
Providing Technical and Practical Support to our Teams
1. Consultation and Advice: Providing accurate and practical advice and technical support to team members as part of the firm’s internal key judgment, ethical, and technical consultation processes alongside support on implementation of the Azets Audit Approach.
2. Training Needs Identification: Identifying training needs and designing remedial action plans based on internal and external quality monitoring activities.
3. Audit Quality Improvement: Working with and coaching audit teams on best practices, audit quality, and improvements to approach, ensuring compliant, efficient, and quality audit work.
Developing Resources for our Teams
1. Guidance and Resources: Authoring practical updates, guidance, resources, and support materials on financial reporting, audit and assurance matters.
2. Audit Approach Development: Design and implementation of updates to the Azets Audit Approach based on regulatory change, user feedback and monitoring findings.
3. Coordinating the Feedback Loops: Coordinating business activities and working group activity, collating responses and working on resource design and delivery.
4. Guidance Identification: Identifying areas where the firm requires additional guidance and resources.
5. Training Resource Design: Contributes to design and delivery of training resources.
There will be opportunities to get involved across other areas of our Quality & Technical Team work as well, including involvement in our audit quality monitoring programme and collaboration with technology, analytics and approach specialists within the team.
Skills & experience
* Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, CA or ACCA)
* In depth knowledge of IFRS and/or UK GAAP
* Experience in external audit and an aptitude for practical application of technical requirements
* Excellent insight and analytical skills
* Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
* Passionate about audit quality with a desire to seek new ways to drive improvement
* A willingness to work flexibly both as part of a close-knit team and as a self-directed individual
