Maintenance Controller / Fleet Engineer Stoke £36-40k, Monday to Friday 8-5pm or (phone number removed)pm, 40 hour week We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Controller / Fleet Engineer to oversee the maintenance operations of our customers fleet. This site-based role involves direct communication with main dealerships, managing challenging inquiries, handling excessive costs, and resolving complex maintenance cases. The successful candidate will ensure maintenance operations are carried out efficiently while adhering to financial controls, credit limits, and customer satisfaction standards. This position offers a clear progression path for the future. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance Management: Oversee maintenance providers, ensuring timely and cost-effective repairs. Negotiate with repair agents, source parts, and manage service level agreements. Liaise with main dealerships to ensure smooth service delivery. Budget & Cost Control: Monitor and manage maintenance budgets, addressing cost overruns and inefficiencies. Ensure financial accuracy and maintain oversight of credit limits. Analyse and resolve excessive costs related to fleet repairs and servicing. Customer & Supplier Relations: Act as the main point of contact for customers and suppliers regarding maintenance-related inquiries. Resolve disputes and concerns that impact the business or customer satisfaction. Ensure effective communication between fleet management teams, suppliers, and customers. Technical Support & Compliance: Provide expert technical guidance and support to customers, depot staff, and fleet desk teams. Organize and manage warranty repairs and third-party repairs as required. Ensure compliance with fleet maintenance policies and industry regulations. Fleet Maintenance & Data Analysis: Analyse fleet maintenance trends and identify areas for improvement. Support proactive maintenance strategies to minimize vehicle off-road (VOR) time. Implement best practices for fleet performance optimization. Key Skills & Attributes: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fleet operations. Required Background & Experience: Proven experience in fleet maintenance management, dealership liaison, or service control. Understanding of maintenance budgets, credit limits, and warranty claims. Knowledge of fleet management systems and data analysis for maintenance optimization.
