What it's like to work here
Reporting to one of our Welcome Managers, you’ll be part of a team of Welcome Assistants working at Hill Top, the farmhouse retreat of Beatrix Potter, in the South Lakes Portfolio.
Hill Top draws visitors from around the world who are passionate about Beatrix Potter, and often have emotional and nostalgic associations with the author and her stories. Through the season the garden comes into bloom and the landscape changes – there is always something new to talk about with visitors.
What you'll be doing
As a Welcome and Service Assistant you will work in various positions across Hill Top; processing admissions in Visitor Reception talking to visitors about supporting the National Trust via Gift Aid admissions, membership recruitment and fundraising. Orientating arrivals in the car park and both greeting and saying farewell to visitors and working in Hill Top house itself alongside our volunteers, answering visitors’ questions about Beatrix Potter and the collection we look after. Helping to bring Beatrix’s iconic stories to life.
Day to day, you’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can.
Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide. This role would suit anyone with enthusiasm for delivering great customer service.
