Job Title: Social Worker – Child Protection Team
Location: Carmarthenshire
Rate : £40 per hour
Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting an experience Qualified Social Worker to join the Child Protection team in Carmarthen.
What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will manage an allocated caseload, including high complexity and high-risk cases related to child protection, care and support, deprivation of liberty, court actions, and school attendance. You will provide social worker support to adults, adults at risk, children, children at risk, and their families and carers. You will undertake assessments, design care and support plans, and determine the provision of external support within allocated budget parameters. Working in partnership with all services, you will ensure the best use and deployment of resources, adapting and applying social worker techniques to meet the needs of individuals, their families, and carers. You will promote positive outcomes by providing professional support, advice, and decisions, ensuring that all referred individuals have evidence-based, recorded, reviewed, and modified plans as appropriate. You will protect the interests and safeguard the welfare of adults and children at risk, taking immediate action when necessary. Additionally, you will participate in a duty system, respond to cases promptly, and manage potential risks. As a role model, you will share good practice, advice, and support with team colleagues, new social workers, and students, including supervision, assessment, and mentoring. You will also be responsible for decision-making regarding individuals’ best interests, conducting best interest assessments, preparing court reports, attending court, and chairing care and support, continuing health care, or safeguarding meetings alongside Team Managers and Assistant Team Managers.

Qualifications and Experiences: To be successful in this role you must have Social Work England registration, be eligible to work in the UK, hold a qualification in Social Work at degree level, and have post-qualified experience. You must also have at least 2 years’ experience as a social worker within children’s services
