The Vacancy
Are you passionate about providing high-quality service and supporting a compassionate environment without having to work late evenings?
As a Bank Kitchen Assistant at our hospice, you will play a vital role in supporting our catering service, ensuring that our patients, staff, and visitors receive exceptional meals in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cover Shifts: Provide coverage for kitchen team members during holidays and offer extra support based on the day/shift’s needs.
* Meal Preparation: Assist with basic food preparation and support the cooking of fresh, nutritious meals for patients in our in-patient unit, Living Well Centre attendees, and staff. You will also help cater for internal events and fundraising functions.
* Cleaning Duties: Complete assigned cleaning tasks to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
Flexible Hours:
Enjoy 7-hour shifts during the week and 10-hour shifts on weekends, with kitchen operations running from 8am to 6pm. This ensures a great work/life balance with no late nights or early mornings.

What We’re Looking For:
* Relevant Experience: Experience in a commercial or hospice/care home setting is ideal. Food hygiene certification (Level 2 minimum) is advantageous, but we offer training if needed.
* Key Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a cheerful disposition, and a willingness to learn and adapt. A proactive mindset and the flexibility to meet patient needs are essential.
