Learning Support Assistant Location: South Ockendon Salary: £84-£100 per day Contract Type: Full-time Job Summary: Are you dedicated to supporting students with unique learning needs? We are looking for a committed Learning Support Assistant to join our team in South Ockendon. In this role, you’ll provide essential one-to-one and small group support to students, working closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver personalised learning plans and foster a positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities of Learning Support Assistant : Individualised Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs. Implement Strategies: Apply strategies and interventions to aid the social and emotional development of students. Collaborate with Professionals: Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to address specific student needs. Foster Inclusion: Create and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment for all students. Monitor Progress: Track and assess student progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents. Develop Behaviour Plans: Contribute to the creation and implementation of behaviour support plans. Qualifications and Skills as a Learning Support Assistant: Experience: Proven experience in a similar Teaching Assistant role is advantageous. Empathy and Passion: Genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs and a strong sense of empathy. Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with students, teachers, and parents. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with the teaching team and other professionals. SEMH Knowledge: Knowledge of or willingness to learn about relevant SEMH strategies and interventions.
