We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our accountancy team, playing a key role in the ongoing development and enhancement of our financial services. In this exciting position, you will utilise your knowledge and experience to drive improvements and support the growth of our service. The successful candidate will be a team player with strong organisational skills, excellent communication and confident in using various ICT tools. You will also have experience with different functionalities on Microsoft Excel.
You will join a friendly and busy accountancy team known for our strong reputation for delivering exceptional results. Reporting to the Deputy Finance Business Partner for Children’s Services and Education, you will work in a team of experienced professionals who are passionate about their work. You will receive the support and guidance you need to thrive in your role, allowing you to develop your skills and contribute to the development of the service.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of timely and accurate information to enable accurate recording and monitoring of expenditure and income, assisting in the effective control of the Council’s financial affairs.
* Managing the relevant email drop boxes and investigating financial queries using appropriate financial systems.
* Uploading school budgets, ensuring figures are accurate and reconciling to agreed control totals.
* Processing School Imprest, providing guidance and support to bursars to reconcile these accounts.
* Providing flexible cover and support to Finance Officers across the Accountancy team as required.
