Fresh Kitchen (part of the Sysco group) is currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis, reporting to the Manufacturing Manager. This role is on-site at our Bicester Fresh Kitchen depot. Fresh Kitchen currently turns over around £90k per week, selling 7,500 units across over 100 SKUs, which have over 500 raw ingredients going into them. As we grow, we need to strengthen our management team to manage the increasing number of SKUs we offer and the number of customers we serve.
As the Commercial Manager, it is your responsibility to provide leadership support while managing the commercial, stock control, and administrative aspects of Fresh Kitchen. This includes managing the process of new product launches from customer sign-off through to first deliveries to ensure an effective end-to-end process. You will liaise with Development Chefs, Production, and Sales teams to ensure recipes are to spec and uploaded correctly into the systems, ensure specifications are correct for customers, and ensure orders are processed and delivered correctly according to specifications.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
* Own the pricing of new product enquiries.
* Work with Development Chefs and Account Managers to agree on the best pricing for products for suppliers and customers, ensuring our products are priced competitively.
* Own Fresh Kitchen stock management and ordering.
* Review product sales of SKUs, highlighting areas of growth and opportunity while understanding why some areas are in decline.
* Collaborate with the Account Management team and Production to ensure we are ordering the right amount of raw materials to meet demand.
* Lifecycle management - reviewing recipes and working with customers to agree on new recipes.
* Review product margins in line with expected margins and amend accordingly through the bi-annual pricing process.
* Provide monthly insights into the performance of products and pricing for internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide insight into the sales and margin performance of the site, working with sales colleagues to understand, challenge, and improve performance.
* Direct line management, including mentoring and coaching of 1 operations administrator.
To be successful in this role, candidates must be highly numerate with a thorough understanding of pricing and margins, as well as high levels of IT literacy including the use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Candidates must have previous experience of pricing in a manufacturing environment and have an analytical mindset with process planning experience and good commercial acumen. You will be able to provide clear insight into performance and recommendations to change course where necessary while having the ability to create, implement, and follow processes. You will have managed a small team previously and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to ensure you are leading process-driven activities. It would be highly advantageous to have previous knowledge of D365 and/or Prophet systems or have previously used multiple systems and show adaptability to using new systems.
