About the opportunity:
The Box Encapsulation Plant project is one of the most important construction projects at the Sellafield Site, the plant will play a vital role in Sellafield’s 100-year clean-up programme by taking nuclear waste recovered from the sites original waste plants and encasing it in concrete so it can be stored in a modern building. The plant is primarily designed to deal with waste from the Magnox Swarf Storage Silo, one of four legacy waste plants prioritised for clean-up by Sellafield Ltd’s owner, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). Alongside that work, the plant will also receive certain wastes from the other three legacy waste stores, the First Generation Magnox Storage Pond, the Pile Fuel Storage Pond, and Pile Fuel Cladding Silo.
For our team at Birchwood Park, we are seeking an experiences EC&I Designer (PDMS).
You will be responsible for (not exhaustive):
1. Development of layout, diagrams and schematic designs using AutoCAD for drawing production.
2. Development, for their allocated Area, CE&I installation designs using PDMS including equipment layout, cable containment design and development.
3. Checks the work of other designers in the team.
4. Liaison with other designer and engineers to ensure adequate space management and clash resolution.
5. Liaison with construction engineers to ensure resolution of installation issues and to inform of forthcoming changes etc.
6. Following established BEP procedures for model development and control.
7. Liaise with other PDMS Designers across the project to ensure consistency.
Here's What You'll Need:
8. Ability to develop CE&I designs to a high level of detail from guidance given by senior engineers, conceptual sketches and outline information.
9. Experience in design engineering in relation to hardware designs, cabling infrastructure and other general CE&I deliverables.
10. Highly proficient in the use of AutoCAD for drawing production.
11. Experience and knowledge of using and developing the PDMS Model.
