Gleeds Energy is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a permanent basis in our Wa r rington office.
Our Quantity Surveyors lead on projects with a range of clients across complex and challenging sectors such as Nuclear, Defence and Natural Resources, allowing our team members to gain a well-rounded experience at a much quicker pace.
In this role you will initially join our team that specialise and delivery of cost and contract management in the Nuclear Decommissioning sector. These programmes are some of the most technical and complex challenges facing the UK today, helping us leave a safer environment for future generations.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be in a varied role that will push you in your development, one day you could be developing data scenario modelling and analysis of contractual bonuses, the next day managing contracts on major programmes to cost assurance, presenting data to senior board members to leading on validation of claims on the projects.
We are a flexible team that supports each other’s projects as well as getting involved with wider business activities. We believe that variety and one to one support is key to your development.
About You
What we are looking for in our next Senior Quantity Surveyor
5. Relevant experience in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management, ideally in the Nuclear / Civil engineering / Engineering (Including Service Contracting) sectors. Broad spectrum of technical knowledge relating to Procurement, Supply Chain, Cost and Commercial Management - ideally both pre and post contract.
6. Advanced experience of standard forms of contract, including the NEC suite.
7. Self-motivated with very strong interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Proven ability to manage stakeholders in a complex environment
Qualifications
9. Ideally you will be HNC, HND or Degree qualified in a Engineering, Quantity Surveying / Cost Management, Construction Law, or similar / relevant discipline, or in some case applicants with an alternative background may be considered.
10. Professional qualifications and/or membership of the APM, RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS or other relevant Chartered Institute are desirable, and will be supported if not already attained.
