Hours per week:
Part time from 10 hours up to 25 hours per week.
Hourly pay rate:
Starting salary is £17.50 per hour during 3 month probationary period. Rising to
£18.50 after a satisfactory probationary period.
I am a 58-years ‘young’ man, paralysed from the chest down.
Main duties include Physiotherapy and Gym, Administration, Valeting, House
Maintenance and Housework, Personal Care and Companion Duties.
I enjoy a joke & like to think I amuse my PAs! I take life calmly & am totally
unstressed. This creates a requirement for PAs to be strict about things that affect
my health, therefore an assertive approach is essential.
Start & Finishing Times and Rates of Pay
The team is made up of 4/5 PAs & 1 nurse working between 14 – 20 hours per
week, day & evening shifts inclusive, over 7 days a week.
The rota is given 3 months in advance so you always know when you will be on
duty.
PA s cover Annual Leave for each other.
The weekends are shared so that all PA have some whole weekends off.
Shift start times vary between 6.45am – 8.30 am.
The evening shift starts 8.30 pm – 9.30 pm & lasts 1 – 2 hours.
Bank Holidays are paid at time & a half.
Duties include:
Medication prompting/administering
Moving and handling
Clinical tasks
Other relevant duties as required

Cooking

Gardening
Dressing / undressing

Very simple cooking, making salads for packed lunches.
Gardening tasks very simple & mowing small lawn.
