Support Worker
You must live in the UK and have the Right to Work in the UK. SeeAbility is unable to support any sponsorship requests.
Location: Seaford, East Sussex
1. Salary: £12.00 per hour (£23,400 per annum) pro-rata plus benefits.. Sleep-ins are paid additionally at £50 per sleep.
2. Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week.
3. Shifts: 7.00am to 3.00pm and 2.00pm to 10.00pm, Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis.
4. Employment type: Full-time and Part-time, Permanent.

Essential Candidate Criteria
5. Hold a UK driving licence and be willing to drive the company car.
6. Demonstrable experience or knowledge supporting a person with autism.
7. Demonstrable experience and knowledge of positive behaviour support and behaviours that can challenge.
8. Hold the right to work in the UK.
Who will you be supporting?
Located in a lovely part of Seaford, East Sussex, Applewood is close to the town centre and its local shops and cafés. Eastbourne, Lewes, and Brighton are nearby, with good public transport, so it's easy to explore the local countryside and coast. Applewood is a residential home for 5 adults who are young at heart with a range of disabilities.
You will be part of an inclusive, supportive team that works well together. You will provide support to people with autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions and visual impairments. You will use your knowledge and skills to support people lead a valued and fulfilled life.
It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve; being able to do something today that they couldn't do last week because of you.
What we expect from you
9. You will be a driver with the UK driving licence and be willing to use the company vehicle. This is to accommodate the needs of the people we support in the most efficient manner.
10. You will have the ability to show strong empathy, a caring and compassionate nature.
11. You will be willing to support the resident with the personal hygiene.
12. Excellent people skills, communication skills and a good sense of humour.
13. You will be able to demonstrate when you have been exposed to behaviours that challenge.
14. You will be positive, enthusiastic and have a professional approach.
15. You will be reliable, flexible, with the people we support at the forefront of your work.
16. You will be honest, with team working ethos aligned to our company values.
