SEN Case Officer
Location: Camden
Rate: £280/day - £300/day
Start date: ASAP
Contract: Full time, 3 - 6 months
Work arrangement: 3 days in office
Role Purpose:
To support the CSF Special Educational Needs Team in fulfilling its role in carrying out the statutory Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments of children and young people with special educational needs (SEN).
Responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring EHC needs assessments are carried out in a timely manner in collaboration with involved professionals and families.
2. Supporting the service in maintaining effective organisation and data management processes during the statutory EHC needs assessment process and/or related case-work.
3. Implementing the administration of the EHC needs assessment process in accordance with statutory guidelines.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
1. Excellent interpersonal skills and capacity to build good working relationships.
2. Excellent knowledge and application of IT systems and software packages including Microsoft WORD, Excel, and Access, with a willingness to learn new skills and systems.
3. Excellent levels of literacy and numeracy.
4. Effective written and verbal communication.
5. Ability to work flexibly, balancing competing priorities and meeting deadlines while understanding the needs, timescales, and deadlines of others.
6. Ability to maintain accurate, confidential records.
7. Knowledge of SEN and Equalities Legislation (Children and Families Act 2014, 0-25 Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice, Equalities Act 2010).
