Your team will consist of Learning Support Assistants as well as a Pupil Mentor and Dramatherapist.
The successful candidate will have successfully completed the NASENCo qualification.

STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP OF POLICY AND PROVISION
1. Ensure that the strategic leadership of Special Educational Needs contributes to the school vision to see ‘Every Child Flourishing’ and promotes the inclusion of pupils with SEND in all aspects of school life.
2. Attend weekly Leadership Team meetings as relevant to role.
3. Ensure that the Leadership Team and Governing Body are well informed about best practice and legislation relating to SEND and inclusion; and that policies and practices relating to SEND are up to date.
4. Lead, monitor and evaluate the quality of provision for pupils with SEND.
5. Attend local meetings and training as required in order to continually develop our policy and practice.
6. Ensure that staff are provided with relevant information and training so that they can meet the needs of pupils with SEND.
7. Lead and manage the provision for children eligible for Pupil Premium and those who receive LAC funding.
8. Produce school documentation as required; for example, SEND Annual Report, SEND Policy, SEND Annual Development Plan; SEND, PPG and LAC data reports.
About you
Qualifications and training:
1. Qualified teacher status.
2. Degree or equivalent.
3. National Award in Special Educational Needs Co-ordination.
4. Relevant experience in leading SEND provision.
5. Commitment to continuing professional development.
Experience, skills and knowledge:
1. Excellent classroom practitioner.
2. Ability to put vision of excellent provision for pupils with SEND into practice.
3. Experience of working at a whole school level, making significant contributions beyond the classroom.
4. Commitment to ensure that all children have access to effective, engaging and inspiring teaching and learning.
5. Commitment to raising achievement for all children through the provision of appropriate interventions and support.
6. Ability to plan and evaluate interventions.
7. Ability to problem solve and devise new approaches and resources as required to meet the needs of individual pupils.
8. An understanding of an effective learning environment and the ability to create one for children with SEND.
9. Ability to use new technologies confidently and effectively to enhance learning.
10. Ability to assess and evaluate the progress of children, using the data to direct future support.
11. High standards and expectations for all in work and behaviour.
12. Ability to develop positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents and governors and to work well as part of a team.
