About the role:
Kids Operating Room (KidsOR) is seeking a creative, motivated Social Media Executive to help expand our digital communications.
This role will focus on creating engaging content across multiple platforms, working with various teams to amplify our message and grow our audience. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in social media & communications while making a tangible impact in global health.
The role will also provide opportunities to support wider digital communications as needed.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Content Creation & Social Media:
1. Develop and create high-quality social media content, with a focus on engaging content and short-form video.
2. Contribute to planning and producing posts, videos, and stories that connect with and grow our audience.
3. Gather stories, visuals, and information from various sources to help showcase our impact.
4. Schedule and publish content across social media platforms, ensuring consistency and optimal engagement times.
5. Monitor digital trends and incorporate them into our content output to keep our platforms fresh, relevant, and engaging.
6. Track and analyse social media performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
7. Explore new digital platforms and creative ways to engage and grow our audience.
Collaboration & Campaign Support:
1. Work with other departments to identify opportunities for content that aligns with organisational goals.
2. Support campaigns, events, and fundraising efforts with tailored communications support.
3. Assist in broader digital communications initiatives where required, such as website updates, email marketing, and multimedia content projects.
Digital Asset Management:
1. Help organise and maintain our digital media library, ensuring photos, videos, and graphics are well-categorised and accessible for content creation and further usage.
Skills & experience:
Required:
1. A passion for storytelling and creating engaging digital content.
2. A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and creative problem-solving skills.
3. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
5. Team player who enjoys collaborating with others but can also self-motivate where required.
Desired:
1. Some experience with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) and basic content creation tools.
2. An interest in the non-profit or healthcare sector is a plus.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
