We have an exciting opportunity to recruit to a Band 5 MHWP within our Lincoln South Community Mental Health Team.
Lincoln's Adult Community Mental Health Transformation Services is a committed, integrated service that strives to provide quality recovery-based support to people with severe and enduring mental health related difficulties.
The post holder would work alongside service users, families, carers and multi-disciplinary team members to co-ordinate care, supporting collaborative decision making about care and treatment. They will deliver a set of wellbeing-focused psychologically-informed interventions, aligned to cognitive-behavioural principles, based on the best evidence available, that address problems often experienced by people with severe mental health problems.
The role of the MHWP includes providing person-centred assessment, through risk assessment, collaboratively agreeing and coordinating a care plan, and providing specific evidence-based treatment interventions alongside signposting to and supporting engagement with other professionals and agencies.
Close clinical skills supervision will be provided from an HCPC registered clinical psychologist or BABCP accredited cognitive behavioural therapist to provide specified psychologically-informed wellbeing-focused interventions.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work within the multi-disciplinary team providing interventions and skills to support individuals to promote good mental health and recovery from severe mental health problems. They will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals within the team including registered nurses, psychiatrists, GPs, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, and Psychologists.
The role includes:
1. Providing person-centred assessment through risk assessment.
2. Collaboratively agreeing and coordinating a care plan.
3. Providing specific evidence-based treatment interventions.
4. Signposting to and supporting engagement with other professionals and agencies.
5. Developing and practicing psychologically-informed interventions.
6. Working directly with adults in the community.
7. Delivering brief wellbeing-focused interventions such as:
* Behavioural Activation and Graded exposure.
* Problem solving.
* Improving sleep.
* Recognising and managing emotions.
* Guided self-help for bulimia and binge-eating.
* Confidence building.
* Support with medication management.

9. Include carers and families in line with the service users' wishes.
10. Liaise with other health and care providers to ensure continuity of care for service users.
11. Communicate information concerning the assessment, formulation and care plans in a skilled and sensitive manner.
12. Develop collaborative plans for relapse prevention.
13. Maintain own continuing professional development and use reflective practice to evaluate and update current practice.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* A graduate certificate (Level 6) or equivalent, delivering the national curriculum for Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners (Adult Specialist Mental Health).
* Registered as a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner on a professional register recognised for this role by NHS England.
Desirable
* Postgraduate certificate (Level 7) delivering the national curriculum for Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners (Adult Specialist Mental Health).
Experience
Essential
* Experience of working with people with mental health needs gained through a graduate certificate or postgraduate certificate training with significant supervised practice.
* Experience running groups/activities.
* Experience working as part of a team.
* Experience of being supervised.
* Experience of analysing and communicating complex information verbally and in writing.
Desirable
* Lived experience of mental health issues/difficulties.
