Are you a graduate with a passion for Religious Studies and a desire to inspire the next generation? Teaching Personnel’s Future Teachers Graduate Scheme offers a unique opportunity to gain paid, hands-on experience in a secondary school before enrolling in teacher training.
About the Programme
This 12-month internship is designed for graduates considering a career in secondary education. You’ll work as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school, developing your skills and confidence before progressing to a PGCE or Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme.
* Start Date: September 2025
* Location: Schools across Greater Manchester (Manchester, Stockport, Salford, Trafford, Bury, Bolton, Rochdale, and Oldham)
* Eligible Graduates: Those with a degree in Religious Studies or a related Humanities subject who aspire to become secondary school teachers.
Your Role as a Future Teacher
As part of the Future Teachers Programme, you’ll gain practical classroom experience, supporting students and teachers in the Religious Studies department. Your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with lesson planning and classroom management.
* Supporting students through small group sessions and one-on-one tuition.
* Covering classes and helping to improve pupil attainment.
* Gaining an in-depth understanding of the teaching profession.
This structured programme provides valuable insight into teaching while strengthening your subject knowledge and professional skills.
