Description
Here at Marlborough Highways we are looking for an Assistant Project Manager with experience in the Highways sector, to work across our North London contracts, managing and co-ordinating teams of both directly employed and subcontract labour and staff. Our Assistant Project Manager will ensure that our operational and financial targets and deadlines are met and that the general works and scheme works are implemented in accordance with the contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Responsible for the safe running of sites and monitoring the implementation and control of safe working procedures.
* Prepare, Implement, and Review risk assessments and method statements.
* Effective interaction and communication between Management and Supervision.
* Manage the Site Plant details and proactively reduce costs where applicable.
* Report and manage all Vehicle Defects for the Contract in accordance with the Company policies and procedures
* Responsible for building and maintaining good relationships with stakeholders and liaising with Client, at the depot or on site.
* Oversee depot and site Inductions.
* Responsible for Health & Safety & Environmental Inspections - in line with the company requirements.
* Issue Works Orders and instructions to site.
* Ensure all Permits to complete Site Operations are completed in full, briefed and understood. Including Permits to Dig.
* Complete a daily site diary, and review site Daily record sheets from the sites.
* Responsible for Programming and Resourcing all works for the Contracts operating from all areas of Operations.
* Organising and resourcing staff labour, plant and materials, so that the works progress effectively and economically. (Inclusive of Hot Costing)
* Minimising cost of works through correct programming and utilisation of labour, plant, materials and Sub-Contractors.
* Identify variations to the contract through work records and site measurements and instigating the change management process.
* Organise/present as appropriate operatives Toolbox Talks.
* Monitoring and providing records of all items of work, including day works. Any additional works and delays must also be fully recorded and kept to substantiate payments.
* Checking drawings, site instructions, work orders and contract documents and reporting any anomalies or lack of information.
* Monitor the standard of work of all site staff.
* Taking off material for Procurement in accordance with the contract programme.
* Where applicable, checking materials delivered to site and reporting all non-conformities.
* Ensure that labour, plant and material costings are entered onto the computerised works management system in line with the monthly commercial management process.
* Responsible for overseeing the collection of measurement information to enable the works to be valued.
* In conjunction with the Operations Manager ensure that the operations are commercially viable.
* Responsible for dealing with all timesheets.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Previous experience in Highways essential. Previous experience in Assistant PM position or Supervisor position required.
