INTERNAL VACANCY
If you are an internal candidate interested in applying for this job as a secondment opportunity, please discuss with your current line manager before submitting your application.
Our legal team offers brilliant development opportunities for junior lawyers who enjoy a wide range of public law challenges. Part of our approach to resilience is to encourage cross-team working and the deployment of staff in new disciplines where their transferable skills are a good fit for the service and its clients. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a G9 lawyer to work in the adult social team as a result of maternity leave.
This role will work to the generic lawyer job description and will move across different areas of the Court team as demand requires but will focus on a caseload of court of protection work and adult social care advice and enquiries for a fixed term of 9 months.
The role is ideal for someone with contentious legal experience and interest in the council’s social care functions who is looking to gain further skills and advance their career.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
Please note, we do not have a sponsorship licence to sponsor individuals for visas to work in the UK, therefore we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
The Council is committed to investing in the talent and wellbeing of our staff and can offer a generous annual leave allowance, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, comprehensive Health & Wellbeing initiatives and a reward package which recognises your contribution. We can offer flexible working practices, community engagement and volunteer activities and, as part of our commitment to you, promote continuous Learning & Development. In addition, we also offer a growing range of discounts, rewards and savings.
