Control Systems Engineer
Location: Norwich
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum
Our client, a well-established leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join their team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to design and integrate new components, control gear, and third-party equipment while supporting customer orders with technical assistance and documentation.
Job Purpose:
As a Control Systems Engineer, you will work and collaborate with production, innovation, and service teams to design and implement control systems for a variety of equipment (e.g., Robots, Sheetfeeders, Checkweighers, Ovens, Presses, Packing machines). You will be responsible for new product specification, development, testing, and release to production, ensuring technical market leadership in the product range.
This role requires occasional site visits and international travel to ensure the correct operation of machinery in diverse processing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, specify, and implement new control components and integrate third-party equipment.
Provide documentation and technical assistance to support customer orders.
Conduct new product development, build, testing, and release to production.
Perform site visits to ensure machinery functions correctly in its operational environment.
Provide out-of-hours software support for installations and upgrades, with flexible working hours as needed.
Collaborate frequently with other departments to ensure smooth project execution.Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in control systems engineering, including specification and integration of third-party equipment.
Strong understanding of automation systems in industrial environments.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple teams.
