Healthcare Support Workers play a vital role in providing excellent care to patients across all NHS care settings. They can help patients with social and physical activities, personal care, mobility, meal times, booking appointments, etc. They may also take observations of patients, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and weight. They can work with many different patient groups, of all ages, including those receiving acute care, people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or mental health conditions, and in maternity services.
This is a hands-on role but it’s one of the most rewarding. Your day-to-day work will vary depending on which department you work in. No matter which area you choose to work in, being a Healthcare Support Worker is a key role at our Trust that’s at the very heart of healthcare.
You do not need any previous experience to apply for our Healthcare Support Worker roles - we are looking for caring and compassionate individuals whose values coincide with our organisations. We can support and teach you the skills you require for this role - we are looking for people who will put the patient first and have a caring nature.

Our support does not end with your initial training, but is an ongoing priority for us. We have a dedicated support team of Associate Educators whose role is to support our Healthcare Support workers; you will be introduced to this friendly team during your training programme in your first week and they will be there to support throughout.
