Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (£20,941.30 - £22,835.30 yearly) based on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only

We're collaborating with a progressive school in Darwen dedicated to providing exceptional education and care for students aged 10 - 19, including those with Asperger's Syndrome, Autism, and other conditions. Currently, we're seeking a skilled SEN Learning Support Specialist - Level 1-2 to join this dynamic team!
As a SEN Learning Support Specialist, your primary role is to support students on their educational journey and ensure their overall well-being within a nurturing and secure environment. Your responsibilities include providing care support as needed, implementing tailored behaviour management strategies, and collaborating with teachers to deliver engaging educational activities that cater to diverse learning needs. Building strong relationships with students is key to fostering a safe and enjoyable learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Participate in planning and evaluating learning activities.
* Provide constructive feedback on student progress.
* Assist in monitoring and reporting student progress in accordance with school policies.
* Support positive behaviour and adapt responses to changes in student behaviour.
* Promote holistic development and British values within the curriculum.
In SEN environments, tasks may vary, requiring flexibility and a willingness to assist as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include experience in SEN settings, a valid UK driving license, and Level 2 or higher qualification in Support Work for Teaching and Learning.
Applicants should hold a minimum of GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above and demonstrate understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures. Knowledge or experience working with SEN or SEMH/ASD is advantageous. The school prioritise candidates who prioritise the individual needs of each child and demonstrate creativity and positivity in their approach.
