TEACHER OF ART (Part Time 0.8, Fixed Term)
Required from 12th March 2025 until March 2026
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our superb Art Department for up to a year. You must be an excellent Art specialist with the ability to inspire our enthusiastic students from Year 7 through to A Level. If you are a highly resourceful, collegially minded and forward-thinking practitioner then we want to hear from you. You will naturally want to take a key role in extra-curricular art activities and contribute to other activities too, be they sporting, academic, musical or dramatic.
This is a part-time and fixed-term role - the successful candidate will be employed on 0.8 of an RGS teaching timetable, i.e., 4 days per week. Working days of the week will be Monday – Thursday for the current academic year.
The Art Department, catering to all year groups, boasts impressive facilities and resources designed to provide students with a comprehensive artistic experience. With a focus on Fine Art as a gateway to various visual disciplines, including architecture, design, and fashion, the department equips students with diverse skills and techniques essential for future pursuits in creative professions.
Being ‘willing to go the extra mile’ is a major part of the role for all teachers at the RGS, not merely in specialist activities, but in a vast range of extra-curricular sporting, artistic and cultural work. We are keen to invite applications from those who would like to make their own distinctive contribution to this ethos. We very much value colleagues who are willing to contribute to our extra-curricular program.
Closing Date: 9.00am Monday 27th January 2025
RGS is proud to be an equal opportunities employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of neurodivergence, age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships. While all applications are considered on merit, we would particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates who are currently under-represented in our staff community.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all staff to share this commitment. All posts are subject to pre-interview referencing, internet searches and pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS check with children's barred list check and other appropriate checks.
