An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Medical Statistician & Statistical Programmer to join the UKCRC fully registered Derby Clinical Trials Support Unit (Derby CTSU). Derby CTSU actively supports high-quality, multi-centre studies across various disease areas, sponsored by both UK-based and international sponsors.

Role Overview: Reporting to the Head of Medical Statistics and Data Management, you will:
* Lead a statistical consultancy service for researchers.
* Support investigators in trial design, funding application development, statistical analysis, and report writing for publications.
* Develop and apply advanced statistical programming to enhance service improvement initiatives and optimize processes.
* Manage and mentor a team of medical statisticians.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert statistical support and consultancy to researchers.
* Conduct advanced statistical analyses and produce comprehensive statistical reports.
* Innovate, develop and maintain Stata programming solutions, including writing .ado and .dlg files.
* Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of the Clinical Trials Unit.
Candidate Profile: We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative individual with the following qualifications and skills:
* Education: MSc in Medical Statistics or an equivalent degree.
* Experience: Significant experience as a medical statistician/statistical programmer in a CTU or similar organization in the UK, with a strong background in a variety of trial designs and statistical analysis methods.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in Stata programming, specifically in writing .ado and .dlg files. Additional knowledge of R programming and the R Shiny package is highly desirable.
* Leadership: Experience in leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team within a Clinical Trials Unit is desirable.
* Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
