Job Title: Workday Technical Architect
Location: Hybrid (Luton, UK)
Rate Payable to Contractors:£500 - £550
Duration of Assignment: 6 Months
Role Description:
The Workday Technical Architect will collaborate with the Workday Platform team to define solutions aligned with the platform's mission, vision, and roadmap. The role involves working closely with functional consultants and solution/enterprise architects to drive long-term architectural direction. The architect will also work with integration consultants to define new integrations between Workday and third-party systems, while technically owning the immediate business priorities, system enhancements, integrations, and transformations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage solution ideation, design, and implementation activities.
* Review business challenges and design solutions that meet vision and requirements, recommending options (including RFIs, RFPs, or prototypes), selecting the best option, and developing a roadmap.
* Communicate the architecture to stakeholders and collaborate with domain architects to formalize and adopt IT standards and procedures.
* Champion a structured approach to business application solutions.
* Assist in developing solutions architecture programs, including departmental roadmaps and project portfolios for IT systems architecture.
* Ensure solutions fit specific purposes and align with technology standards and guidelines.
* Influence changes to standards when necessary.
* Support architectural aspects of all application projects in the IT portfolio.
* Identify and recommend appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options considering productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership.
* Provide analysis of security protection technologies as needed.
* Own and manage system upgrades and integrations.
* Participate in release planning activities, system and solution demos, and inspect & adapt events.
Key Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
* Experience with Workday modules such as Core HCM, Talent & Performance, Advanced Compensation, and Learning.
* Expertise in developing Workday reporting and analytics.
* Experience in designing integrations between Workday and third-party systems.
* (Nice to have) Architecture and technology knowledge in the aviation domain.
* (Must) Proven experience as a technical architect in the HR domain, with strong Workday expertise.
* (Must) Demonstrated leadership in previous engagements and the ability to independently manage solution design within a platform organization.
* (Must) Familiarity with Architecture Review Board and Technical Design Assurance processes, and experience delivering solution blueprints and design artifacts.
