Job Title: New Product Development (Chef/Baker).
Location: 125a Gorsebrook Road, Wolverhampton, WV10 6JD (Head Office/Bakery).
Main Purpose: MSZ Brands is seeking a experienced New Product Development (NPD - Chef/Baker) to oversee the creation and execution of innovative bakery and food products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial baking, recipe standardisation, fast-food QSR operations, and staff training. This role requires a balance of culinary creativity, leadership, and business acumen to drive product innovation while maintaining operational efficiency and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities -
Recipe Standardisation:
* Develop and standardise recipes to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency across all outlets.
* Document all recipes with precise measurements, methods, and execution guidelines.
New Product Development (NPD):
* Lead the development of new bakery and food products, incorporating the latest industry trends, customer preferences, and seasonal ingredients.
* Conduct research and development to introduce innovative and market-relevant offerings.
* Work closely with procurement teams to source high-quality ingredients at cost-effective prices.
Operational Efficiency:
* Streamline execution time for all recipes to improve speed and service efficiency.
* Optimise kitchen workflows to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Quality Control:
* Ensure the highest quality standards in food preparation, presentation, and taste.
* Implement and maintain rigorous hygiene and food safety protocols in compliance with regulations.
* Maintain product quality and integrity during delivery and transportation.
Budgeting & Reporting:
* Assist in the creation and management of budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
* Provide regular reports on kitchen performance and product costs.
Training & Development:
* Conduct training sessions for kitchen staff on new recipes, food preparation techniques, and quality control measures.
* Actively participate in all company training programs and meetings, including pre-course and post-training actions as required.
* Promote a culture of continuous learning and skill development among team members.
Qualifications & Experience -
* Proven experience in a commercial bakery or food production environment.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate kitchen teams.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and best practices.
* Experience supervising kitchen staff and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
* Background in hospitality and restaurant operations with a focus on efficiency and quality.
* Ability to develop and launch new menu items in alignment with business goals and market trends.
