The Opportunity We have an excellent opportunity for a Project Planner and Scheduler to join the JFD team to ensure planning & scheduling best practices are applied across all projects for strategically important international defence projects. Key Accountabilities Develop, maintain and manage the Planning system for projects while preparing close-out reports, creating / maintaining the historical database and improving quality of feedback to tender/project. Create and analyse shortage reports, identifying risk and possible solutions. Manage and expedite relevant functions to meet critical schedule deadlines and milestones in conjunction with Project Team and supporting departments, develop WBS, CBS, OBS and define baseline schedules. You will establish, manage and update fully resourced schedule for assigned projects whilst ensuring all Changes and Variations are captured in the schedule and the impact evaluated, proposing alternative/corrective solutions. Liaise with Clients and Subcontractors or Vendors to ensure full compliance and control of the overall integrated project schedule and also develop, maintain and manage Projects specific planning, scheduling, reporting processes and procedures, ensuring their application. In addition, gather actual data, update project schedule and develop reliable schedule forecast with support from project team. Measure, control and report project progress highlighting any issues or areas of concern. Skills, Experience and Qualifications: Planning / scheduling experience, in a projects/manufacturing environment. Risk analysis experience. Understanding of ERP processes. APM or PMI Certification is an advantage. Specific training courses related to Project Management, Planning and relevant tools. Relevant experience within the Oil & Gas, Defence, heavy engineering industry. Ideally with exposure to manufacturing, diving/subsea sectors, with both on-shore and off-shore scope of works. Proficient user of Primavera P6 and MS-Project, good knowledge of excel; configuration of ERPs (Glovia, SAP, JD Edwards) in a project environment is an advantage. Degree (Business Administration/Finance/Engineering) would be advantageous. You will need to be a UK resident with the right to work in the UK and also be able to obtain SC level clearance.
