Quantity Surveyor – Electrical (Contract Role) Location: Shotton Mill, Weightbridge Road, Deeside Contract Duration: 10 Months (Until January 2026) Job Type: Contract Working Hours: 08:00 AM – 06:00 PM, Monday to Friday (1-hour lunch break) Job Overview A leading engineering firm is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor – Electrical to manage cost estimation, procurement, and financial control for electrical installations on a major project. The successful candidate will track project costs, manage subcontractor valuations, and ensure cost-effective execution while maintaining compliance with UK (England and Wales) standards. Key Responsibilities ✔ Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and procurement for: Low Voltage (LV) Cabling Lighting Installations Lightning Protection Systems Extra Low Voltage (ELV) Systems (Fire Alarm, Security, BMS, Data & Communication Networks, etc.) ✔ Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQ) based on project specifications. ✔ Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier contracts for cost efficiency. ✔ Track project costs, variations, and budget reports to ensure financial control. ✔ Assist in preparing claims, variations, and change orders with proper documentation. ✔ Verify and certify subcontractor payments based on completed work. ✔ Work closely with project teams to implement cost control and value engineering. ✔ Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and risk assessments. Requirements ✅ Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. ✅ Proven experience in electrical quantity surveying for large-scale construction projects. ✅ Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting, and contract management. ✅ Knowledge of UK electrical standards, codes, and regulations. ✅ Experience in BoQ preparation, contract negotiations, and financial reporting. ✅ Proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Excel. ✅ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. ✅ Valid UK work permit required.
