A well-regarded multinational company in Devon is a seeking a proactive and self-motivated Financial Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. This position will be based in Plymouth. Your new role
This is a pivotal role in a finance team of over 20 staff. Alongside the key duties, the job involves leading and mentoring finance team members, ensuring robust reporting systems and processes are in place and using PowerBI solutions to enhance financial reporting. Responsibilities include :
1. Support financial business partnering with operational areas of the business.
2. Contribute to the development of financial plans that deliver savings and improved value for money.
3. Prepare statistical information and reports identifying trends and areas for improvement.
4. Proactively identify and implement process improvements.
5. Undertake project work as required.
6. Ensure all processes align with company standards, acting with integrity and promoting the company's values.
7. Demonstrate commercial awareness regarding products, customers, markets, and production processes.
8. Prepare monthly consolidated group management accounts, providing accurate data with variance analysis and commentary.
9. Prepare annual financial statements, including supporting files and responding to auditor queries.
10. Preparing weekly short-term cash flow forecasts, reviewing and analysing both disbursements and receipts models, and providing accurate cash flow presentations for various stakeholders.
11. Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls, driving continuous improvement.
12. Support the preparation of annual tax returns and compliance.
13. Manage information required for HMRC and national statistical reporting.
14. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and manage tasks to support an efficient close period and timely reporting of monthly/quarterly management accounts
