About the Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Network Engineer to implement, manage and support the network infrastructure (physical, virtual, public / private cloud environments) for one of our clients in the hospitality industry.
As a Cloud Network Engineer, your role would involve the following responsibilities:
* Designing, implementing, and managing cloud network infrastructure in a multi-cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
* Developing network architecture blueprints, including virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, routing tables, security groups, and network access control policies.
* Configuring and maintaining network services such as VPNs, load balancers, firewalls, and DNS.
* Implementing and managing network connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and cloud environments, including hybrid cloud setups.
* Monitoring and optimizing network performance, availability, and scalability to ensure efficient and reliable network operations.
* Implementing and maintaining network security measures, including network segmentation, access controls, and intrusion detection / prevention systems.
* Troubleshooting and resolving network issues, working closely with cross-functional teams and cloud service providers as necessary.
* Automating network provisioning, configuration, and management tasks using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and orchestration tools.
* Collaborating with DevOps and development teams to ensure network requirements are met for application deployments and infrastructure changes.
* Staying up to date with emerging cloud networking technologies, best practices, and industry trends.
Qualifications
* Extensive experience working as a Network Engineer, with a focus on cloud networking.
* Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP / IP, DNS, VPN, BGP, MPLS).
* Hands-on experience with cloud networking services and technologies, such as AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network, Google Cloud VPC, and associated components.
* Proficiency in network security principles and best practices, including firewall configurations, access controls, and network segmentation.
* Familiarity with cloud networking architectures and patterns, including hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments.
* Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, as well as network performance optimization techniques.
* Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, and experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
* Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices, with the ability to collaborate with DevOps teams for network automation and integration.
* Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, or equivalent.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Our projects are primarily long-term, from 6 months to 2 years.
