The company is seeking to recruit a Technical Support and Commissioning engineer to provide site support and commissioning services to complement our range of products. Job outline Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the focus of the role will be to provide practical technical support for the HVAC products we supply. This will mainly involve working on construction sites to commission and service ventilation units and associated controls, but will also involve ancillary tasks such as equipment surveys, fault finding, etc. Product specific training will be provided, but the ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge of HVAC controls and possess relevant electrical qualifications along with experience in a relevant field. A qualification in in electrical or electronic engineering would be advantageous. The position will be based at our Moira office, but will involve regular travel, primarily within Northern Ireland but occasionally including Ireland and mainland GB as required. Travel to mainland Europe for supplier training will also be occasionally required. Key Responsibilities Pre & post-delivery technical support to help ensure right first time installation. On-site commissioning of HVAC controls. On-site fault finding and troubleshooting Responding to technical enquiries Maintaining internal project records and technical documentation libraries Secondary tasks Working in a small team it is often necessary for staff to be flexible in their job role, for example to provide cover for colleagues whilst they are on leave or during busy periods. In addition to the above key responsibilities it is therefore envisaged that, as required, the role would occasionally involve other tasks including, but not limited to: Dealing with trade sales enquiries Assisting with stores & housekeeping tasks Qualifications/Experience/Skills Essential Criteria Higher-level educated in an electrical engineering subject OR 3 years experience in a relevant role. Excellent hands-on practical skills Excellent verbal & written communication skills Excellent IT skills Right to work in the UK Valid Driving Licence (max 3 penalty points) Willingness to work away from home if needed (infrequently) Desirable Experience of installation, fault finding, and commissioning of electrical equipment, including familiarity with 3-phase electrics, industrial drives and motor controls.
