Job summary The Radiology Department is proud of the spirit of co-operation and teamwork that exists both between the Radiologists and with the other professional groups in the department and in local primary care. The successful applicant will be expected to cultivate the team-working ethic to facilitate the amicable, efficient and smooth running of the department. The detail of the job plan is open to negotiation and will be formalised with the Clinical Director on behalf of the Medical Director shortly after commencement. This will be reviewed within the first year of employment and on an annual basis thereafter to reflect changing workload, commitments and service needs. The post holder will be expected to provide general Radiology services as part of the radiology team, including the provision of consulting and advisory services to clinical colleagues. The post holder will contribute to the rota for daytime acute CT and MRI cover and comply with the department's policy for minimising the number of dropped clinical lists. Main duties of the job The post holder will contribute to provision of specialist gynaecological or chest imaging services. They will further develop services within the trust and participate in gynae-oncology multidisciplinary team meetings to maintain the highest standards of care. The proportion of specialist work relative to general radiology provision is open to negotiation. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the supervision of radiology SpRs assigned to the department. The appointee will be expected to demonstrate firm involvement in Clinical Governance, Risk Management and Clinical Audit, complying with GMC guidelines on good medical practice and Data Protection legislation. All employees must participate in Mandatory Training as required by the Trust. The post will also include an equitable participation in the general (non-interventional) on-call rota. This is currently undertaken on a 1:16 frequency attracting 1 PA. This currently attracts Band A on call allowance (3% supplement).
