The Administrative Assistant to the School Principal will be employed full-time in support of the building principal for grades 3-6. This is a 12-month position.
Qualifications
* High School Diploma/GED required. An Associate's Degree in office management, business sciences or a related field is preferred.
* Three to 5 years of experience in business administration, two of which have been in a school environment or equivalent education or experience.
This position is in the front office of the elementary school grades 3-6.
Required Skills:
* Proficiency with office software, Google Suite, computers, and office machines.
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
* Operate effectively while under pressure.
* MUNIS training desired.
* Successful Massachusetts CORI and State Fingerprinting.
Work Year:
This is a 12-month fully benefited position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Represents the Principal's office in a calm, personable and professional manner.
* Assists with the public relations and communication efforts of the Principal.
* Works collaboratively with the Principals, administrators, secretaries, faculty, staff, parents and students.
* Organizes information and maintains documentation, reports, files, and records.
* Maintains high confidentiality.
* Answers phones and directs calls to the appropriate individual.
* Maintains the front office calendar.
* Prepares and organizes the Principal with the necessary documents and information required for meetings/appointments.
* Prepares reports, correspondences, presentations, and publications.
* Manages the school's Connect-Ed notifications.
* Responds to inquiries or complaints and directs them to the appropriate department/person.
* Manages purchase orders for school supplies and materials.
* Ability to accurately proofread and edit.
* Other duties as assigned by the principal or assistant principal.
