Job title: Transport Planner Location: Hams Hall Salary: £28-30k Hours: Mon - Fri 42.5 hours Purpose of the Transport Planner Role: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner to play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of daily transport activities. You will liaise with drivers, customers, internal teams, and suppliers to plan cost-effective routes, maintain compliance, and enhance operational efficiency. This role requires strong organisational skills, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to transport management. Key Responsibilities for a Transport Planner: Plan and optimise transport routes while ensuring compliance with regulations. Brief and debrief drivers, ensuring they have correct documentation and understand customer expectations. Maintain accurate records of transport-related data, including bookings, fuel usage, toll charges, and manifests in the transport management system. Monitor driver performance, address any delays, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements. Ensure compliance with statutory laws, EU Drivers' Hours Rules, Road Transport Regulations, and company policies. Monitor fuel usage, toll charges, and parking costs, addressing any concerns. Act as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding transport planning issues. Assist in the continuous improvement of transport processes by setting and managing KPIs to enhance service and profitability. Key Requirements for a Transport Planner: Previous experience in transport planning or traffic management. All round knowledge of general haulage, contract distribution and pallet network. Strong customer service and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. A problem-solving mindset with strong organisational skills. National CPC qualification (advantageous but not essential). ADZN1_UKTJ
