The Role

You will be unflappable, have a sense of humour, and be utterly committed to the children in your care. No SEMH experience is necessary, but a desire to learn and develop is essential.
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
1. Significant experience in a leadership role within an educational or welfare setting.
2. Experience of managing pastoral care systems and implementing strategies to support learner well-being.
3. The ability to work effectively with external agencies and stakeholders to support learners.
4. Experience of leading and managing staff teams, with a focus on welfare and pastoral care.
5. Comprehensive understanding of statutory requirements related to safeguarding and child protection.
6. Experience in leading programs that support personal development and reduce the risk of criminal exploitation.
7. Experience working with vulnerable learners and providing targeted interventions.
8. Experience in managing small group sessions for personal growth and development.
9. Empathy and a passion for helping learners achieve their potential and grow into responsible global citizens.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with learners, staff, parents, and external partners.
11. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
12. Ability to analyse data and use it to inform decision-making and drive improvements.
13. Have the patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
14. Be flexible and open to change.
