What you will do in your working day
MAIN DUTIES OF JOB:
• Observing, learning and understanding a wide range of engineering skills and processes while under the instruction of a skilled engineer.
• To be able to demonstrate these skills and processes as the training period progresses by working independently or with a team, to undertake tasks as instructed and increasing overall contribution to the department.
• To be able to maintain a high level of hygiene regarding the equipment and tools that will be used.
• To undertake and successfully complete suitable courses throughout the training period, achieving high academic grades and practical skills in order to entitle yearly progression leading to the completion of your apprenticeship.
• Learning and understanding the importance of Health and safety within the workplace and understanding of teamwork communication both written and verbally.
• To learn how to maintain workshop equipment and to keep it in good repair
• To maintain an in-depth logbook of tasks with high detail and over the duration of the apprenticeship period, recording projects that have been undertaken, taking pictures of work to support college writeups and the skills learned.
OTHER DUTIES:
A degree of flexibility is needed, and the employee may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above, with a positive attitude for on-going learning.

The training you will be getting
STANDARD & LEVEL
The successful candidate will work towards completing the Level 3 Maintenance and operations Engineering Technician Standard from the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education. Delivered by Blackpool and The Fylde College offering expert tuition and exceptional facilities.

Off-the-job training
Developing your skills at work is called on-the-job training, 20% of your apprenticeship (equal to one full day a week) will be ‘off-the-job’. This might include attending College, tackling projects, online learning, coaching, shadowing, or training for your job.
