MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
OVERVIEW
The Business Development Coordinator is a newly created role designed to work closely with the sales and marketing teams to discover, research and qualify potential vendor opportunities. The full-time office-based position can be based from either our G3 Castleford, or G3 Bedford branch.
G3 is looking for a confident and proactive hunter, who will play a key role by profiling business development opportunities for the G3 auction business to source vehicles from a range of prospects in the automotive sector; including but not limited to finance houses, company fleets, lease and rental companies, alongside dealership groups and car supermarkets.
Reporting to the Sales Director and supported by the wider sales team, the sales-led position will involve desk-based research to create daily activity and introduce G3’s suite of products to relevant companies and contacts in order to qualify each prospect and build pipelines and follow-up appointments for G3’s nationwide field-based business development team.
As part of the qualifying process, it will be essential to work closely with the marketing team to develop effective literature, tender documents and presentations for the relevant prospects and sectors to cut through the noise and ensure G3 has the greatest chance to engage with relevant stakeholders and gatekeepers. This may be through nationwide campaigns or one-off local opportunities.
This role is ideally suited for a candidate with an interest in sales and looking to build a career in business development within a fast-moving business, supported by an experienced team, there is an opportunity to progress into further roles within the sales team.
Key Responsibilities
* Contact new leads (cold and warm) to qualify opportunities and discover key decision-makers
* Conduct desk research to create opportunities in a wide range of automotive related sectors
* Stay up to date on industry trends, awards, 'top lists' and competitor activity to identify opportunities
* Qualify and introduce G3's suite of products to new prospects whilst building activity pipelines to the wider sales team
* Manage CRM - record accurate contact information and activities, identify key milestones whilst tracking follow-ups and pipeline progress
* Manage all inbound vendor queries - respond and track progress in CRM
* Assist in marketing opportunities including prospecting, proposals, quotes, presentations and tenders
* Participate in sales team meetings with updates and prospect statuses
* Present regular summary of progress to the Sales Director
Key skills required
* Must be an effective communicator - able to cut through the noise and build relationships
* Excellent telephone manner with both cold and warm calls – equally adept at speaking to internal and external stakeholders
* Equally adept with technology and Microsoft suite of products to engage via Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams
* Strong organisational and time-keeping skills to manage communications and CRM updates
* Ability to work independently, whilst engaging with the field-based team
* Commercial minded focus - always looking to identify new business opportunities
