As a Housing Options Officer, you will form part of an Area Housing Team that delivers on improved services. You will be responsible for delivering enhanced housing options advice and provide case management support to prevent homelessness. You will assess needs and make statutory homelessness decisions and work with applicants to secure appropriate accommodation. You will undertake housing allocations, housing list management and voids management and deliver devolved high quality landlord services by engaging with customers and partners to minimise void loss and ensure best use of housing stock. The Person If you meet the essential qualification criteria outlined below, we’d like to hear from you: We are looking for an individual who has knowledge of the Scottish Secure and Short Scottish Secure Tenancies and who has knowledge of both the social and private rented sector and of housing options across all tenure types. You will need good time management, communications and organisational skills. You will also possess IT Skills. You will be educated to SCQF level 7 or equivalent and you will require (if you do not already hold this) to undertake the Housing Law Advice qualification. Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
