We’re seeking a talented Injection Mould Tooling Engineer to join our team, focusing on the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of our injection mould tools. In this hands-on role, you’ll ensure that our tooling is operating at peak efficiency, diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and carrying out preventative maintenance. You will also be involved in supporting trials of new tooling as the business continues to grow. With 3 sites (soon to be 4) across the UK, Goodfish Group is growing and looking for a Tooling Engineer based at our Cannock site for MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul). This is a key position providing technical support to ensure high levels of productivity and ensure the products are produced right first time. We are committed to providing development opportunities for like minded individuals and have mapped out some potential routes for progression associated with this role in this link: Technical Progression Routes Outputs Reception & initial assessment of incoming tooling & equipment Maintenance, repair & overhaul of existing moulding and extrusion tooling to a good serviceable standard Strip & reassemble tools Identify and complete modifications where necessary Complete repairs Initiate and carry out a planned maintenance record for all tooling Maintain tool maintenance & repair records Assist in onsite breakdowns Project manage any tooling that needs outsourcing for repairs Support new tool sampling and maturation/optimisation Ensure all PFU’s (Problem Follow Ups) from Trials are actioned and followed through to completion with optimum efficiency Storage and handling of tooling, keeping an up to date tooling database Work in conjunction with other departments to resolve issues and assist in new projects Personal An engineer/technician with demonstrable experience of building tools from start to finish A background in plastic injection moulding Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Knowledge of fitting, polishing and assembly methods Able to display initiative and demonstrate a pro-active, can-do attitude Demonstrate commercial acumen for job costings, purchasing of materials and consumables within budget Demonstrable hands-on process fault finding & rectification techniques Good communication skills and the ability to keep accurate records using IT systems A relevant engineering qualification and/or time served toolmaking apprenticeship Hours You will be employed to work 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri) with a half hour unpaid break per day.
